Back II
Well. That was a painfully long hiatus. No drama this time, fortunately. Did someone say re-design?
I’m just fiddling.
If you’re in Waconia for any reason, you should catch Sunny Wicked at the Carver County fair. That’s some good shit.
I’m not ready to delve full force back into weblogging/journaling yet, but I will say that I have an overpowering love for my friends lately. In a time of absolute emotional nastiness when I should be whimpering in some corner, they’re taking me to Wal-Mart to buy hair dye and Taboo, and then staying up until 2 AM on a work night to play the game. Plus, who can forget Atomic Bowling, me half-drunk and all of us pretty bad at it? or India Palace, where I got to try vegetable curry for the first time in my life, though Nick would be disappointed ’cause I really can’t find the distinct taste of curry. Or how about walks on misty days through Chester Creek Park and girl talks on the rocks? or Matt who offered a hug when I needed one the most?
These are good things.
The stillness of yesterday afternoon when I walked out of Barnes and Noble. The patience of my supervisor at work who seems to know I need time off and doesn’t hate me when I take it. The knowledge that if I call my mother at 4 AM, she’ll be awake and ready to calm me down. The fact that my library fine is paid. My teddy bears. A great nap.
These are good things. Silver lining and all, right?
Editor’s Note, 09.28.04: The emotional nastiness I was experiencing at this time was Erik’s sudden and inexplicable dumping of me. Hello, passive voice. Anyway, we did get back together later that summer, but those first few months. Oooh.
